About Us


 Who and What is GNAT-TV?


Greater Northshire Access Television is a non-profit, 501(C)3 corporation with a volunteer board of directors drawn from the community. Incorporated on December 1, 1995, GNAT is registered as a non-profit organization with the Vermont Secretary of State.

GNAT offers state of the art technology, training, and programming for communities in the greater Northshire area of Vermont, including the following:
  • Community Bulletin Board
  • Video & Production Workshops
  • Internship Programs
  • Development of Community Projects
  • Satellite Feeds
  • Videotaping of Town meetings and Special Events
  • Duplication of Programming
  • Rental of Our Facilities

As an Access Television Station we cablecast any program provided to us that is non-commercial, is not indecent, meets requirements as outlined in our policy handbook, and has valid local permission from the producers.
Greater Northshire Access Television (GNAT-TV) is funded in part by Comcast subscribers, but we also depend on grants for special projects and semi-annual fundraisers. If your business would like to join our growing list of supporters, please call us at 802.362.7070 or e-mail us for more info.



 Mission Statement


  • To enable, support, and promote the production & distribution of television programs by and for educational, charitable, social service or other non-profit organizations, residents of, or members of a group which operates within the communities of Arlington, Dorset, Londonderry, Manchester, Peru, Rupert, Sandgate, Stratton, Sunderland, Weston or Winhall served by Comcast Cable Communications or its successors.

  • To distribute these programs on public telecommunications facilities, including by not limited to cable television, closed circuit, or broadcast television and radio.

  • To provide for the care and custody of equipment, facilities and programs owned or used by Greater Nothshire Access Television.
  • To seek and receive donations and grants from public and private sources in order to meet the expenses of the aforesaid purposes.

  • To exercise any other rights or responsibilities incidental to or associated with the aforesaid purposes and in accordance with applicable law.
