Afterschool Programs & JISP

GNAT-TV has partnered with schools in the Northshire area to offer this media education program during the long winter months. The JISP program at GNAT-TV runs from early January through early March every year, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

About GNAT-TV’s Mediamaker Club

Ready to bring your creative ideas to life and experience the thrill of working in a professional television studio? At GNAT-TV’s Mediamaker Club, you’ll dive into the world of media production. Whether you’re interested in producing your own show, creating viral online content, or growing your storytelling skills, this program gives you the hands-on experience to make it happen.

Participants will learn essential media production skills, from TV and audio production to green screen techniques and podcasting. You’ll develop practical knowledge that you can immediately apply to real-world projects, while working in a collaborative, creative environment.

Skills participants learn and grow include:

  • TV Production: Master camera operation, lighting, and shot composition to create professional content for both TV and digital platforms.
  • Audio Production: Learn sound recording, microphone techniques, and audio editing to produce clear, high-quality sound.
  • Green Screen Filming: Experiment with green screen technology to add digital backgrounds and effects to your videos.
  • Podcasting: Gain the skills to plan, record, and edit podcasts, from equipment setup to interview techniques.
  • Storytelling: Build captivating narratives that connect with your audience, from the first idea to final production.

Why Join the JISP Mediamaker Club?

  • Create Hands-On Projects: Bring your ideas to life through real projects using professional equipment in a supportive environment.
  • Develop Technical Skills: Focus on building a strong technical foundation in media production learning the same equipment and tools professionals use.

  • Make Your Television Debut: Participants’ projects are eligible to be broadcast on television and streaming platforms, alongside our regular programming!
